September 19 10:00 am-4:00 pm: 9th Annual Indiana Bat Festival
10:00 am- 4:00 pm at ISU Science Building; Evening event at Dobbs Parks starts at 6p.m.
The Indiana State University Center for Bat Research, Outreach, and Conservation will be hosting the 9th Annual Indiana Bat Festival on 19 September 2015 from 10am-4pm at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. We invite people to join us for a day of lectures by guest bat experts, demonstrations with live bats and raptors, children’s activities, and educational exhibits. Our goal in hosting this free festival every year is to educate folks about bats and to get them excited about bat conservation. The theme for the 2015 festival is “Bats on the Farm”, so we’ll have presentations focusing on the economic importance of bats, bat box design, and gardening for wildlife. Evening events will take place at Dobbs Park in Terre Haute starting at 6pm. There we will have a live raptor demonstration, an obstacle course where children can learn what it is like to be a bat biologist, nature hikes and other educational activities. The annual festival is funded solely through donations and no amount of support is too small!
