The Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department will host the 31stth annual Pioneer Village Christmas Walk at Fowler Park on Friday December 6 from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The public is invited to join the Village Folk and park staff as they step back in time and prepare for the Christmas season. Visitors are asked to dress warm and bring flashlights.
Walk through the village and visit with pioneer interpreters in their cozy 19th century cabins. The Pioneer Village paths will be lit by lanterns and firelight will fill the cabin hearths.
The village gift shop will be open with many homemade and old-fashioned items suitable for Christmas gifts. For a few dollars, visitors can enjoy a carriage ride through the Village with Larry Sample and his horses.
Admission is free. Sweet treats, hot drinks, and Christmas crafts will be available for purchase in the Pioneer Village Log Barn.
Fowler Park is south of Terre Haute off of U.S. Highway 41 at 3000 E. Oregon Church Road.
