FRANK SHORTER COMMUNITY RUN
Terre Haute – The Local Organizing Committee for the 2011 NCAA National Cross Country Championships announced today that Frank Shorter, one of the premier distance runners in American history (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Shorter), will host a community run on Sunday, November 20th in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Who: Frank Shorter – American Gold and Silver Medal marathon Olympian
and credited with igniting the running boom in the United States
of the 1970s.
What: Community 5-Kilometer Run/Walk. Open to all abilities.
When: Sunday, November 20, 2011.beginning at noon (12:00 p.m.)
Where: Indiana State University Stadium and the Indiana Mile Trail –
Terre Haute, Indiana.
What to Bring: Running/walking shoes, cameras, autograph material
and substantial welcoming enthusiam..
Mr. Shorter’s Community Run is a running kickoff to “championship weekend” in Cross Country Town USA which will feature a keynote banquet address on November 19th by former national champion Craig Virgin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Virgin) and the crowning of individual and team national cross country champions on Monday, November 21, 2011, at the Lavern Gibson Championship Course.
