The Downtown Terre Haute Farmer’s Market is growing up, and is becoming its own entity. Originally founded as a project of Downtown Terre Haute, Inc., now the market will be run by the growers themselves. You can expect the high quality, local emphasis that has supported our growth to continue.

Spring brings strawberries, rhubarb, lettuces, onions, meats and cheeses, eggs, honey, potatoes, radishes, free-range chicken, maple syrup, organic herbs and spices, live herbs, fresh flowers, jam jellies, fair trade coffee, pickles, natural soaps and lotions, handcrafted wooden crafts, and a lot more.

STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL IN DOWNTOWN TERRE HAUTE — Mark your calendars for this years Strawberry Festival. Ohio Street will be awash with berries and ice cream as one of Terre Haute’s oldest churches kicks off one of its sweetest traditions.

The First Congregational Church is planning its annual Strawberry Festival in the church’s parking lot at Sixth and Ohio streets.

The event is downtown Terre Haute’s largest one-day event

Special Olympics Indiana is a not-for-profit organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in more than 20 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, reaching nearly 10,000 athletes across Indiana. Special Olympics Indiana is part of the international network of accredited Special Olympics Programs that reaches more than 2.5 million athletes with intellectual disabilities worldwide. The summer games are usually always the first weekend in June. The ISU campus will soon be graced with the presence of these athletes to compete for the 2013 summer games June 8-9.
