Rose- Hulman host the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournaments

TERRE HAUTE, IND. — Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has captured its first regular season conference baseball championship since 1996 and will host the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament this week.

The Fightin’ Engineers finished the regular season at 27-12 overall and 18-6 in conference play. Rose-Hulman claimed its first conference wide regular season title since 1996 after Franklin swept Anderson 11-0 and 3-2 on Saturday.

Rose-Hulman will face the fourth seed in the HCAC Tournament on Thursday at Art Nehf Field. Anderson and Franklin will square off in the day’s first game. Start times and pairings for the tournament will be published when confirmed.

First Annual Steve Weatherford’s “Rush the Punter” 5 K April 28th

The first annual Steve Weatherford’s “Rush the Punter” 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will take place on Saturday, April 28 at the Fairbanks Park in Terre Haute, IN.

“Steve is proving once again that he gives back and cares about his hometown. The United Way is very excited to be partnering with Steve and the Vigo County School Corporation to help raise money for their early childhood education program – Success by 6. A program that helps thousands of children in the Wabash Valley every year,” Troy Fears, United Way Executive Director stated. Race day registration & packet pick-up will be from 12:15 -1:00 PM. The 1 Mile Fun Run (K – 3 grade race) will begin at 1:10 PM. The 1 Mile Fun Run (4 – 8 grade race) will begin at 1:30 PM. As a special incentive for the 1 Mile Fun Run, Steve will get a 5-10 second head start and the participants will try to “rush the punter” and catch Steve and run with him. At 2:00 PM the 5K Dash and 5K Walk will take place. Please join us for a fun-filled special family-friendly event.Registration forms are available at United Way of the Wabash Valley and the Vigo Co. School Corporation.

The Lemon Brothers Band

The Lemon Brothers Band is a young (8-10year age range) and seriously talented group. The band includes: Guitar, Drums, Bass, and Vocals. The Lemon Brothers talent of playing music and singing began at the early age of four, and they continue to play with a lot of natural groove and enthusiasm.

They have played at several fundraisers and special events in Terre Haute.
