Fall into Terredise
Experience the best of the season in Terre Haute
Fall in Terre Haute brings cooler days, changing leaves, and plenty of reasons to explore. From Saturday mornings at the farmers market to Homecoming weekends, pumpkin picking, and afternoons in the park, it’s easy to turn a fall day into a Terre Haute weekend.
Start your morning with a seasonal drink from one of Terre Haute’s local coffee shops and pair it with a pumpkin donut from Square Donuts. On Saturday mornings, stop by the Terre Haute Farmers Market for fresh produce, baked goods, and locally made finds. For more fall flavors, head to Sycamore Winery to try one of their seasonal wines or slushies.
Spend the afternoon outside and enjoy the changing scenery. Pack a picnic at Deming Park, walk the trails at Hawthorn Park, explore Fowler Park, or grab your discs for a round of disc golf. For a little more adventure, head to Griffin Bike Park for miles of trails and pump tracks. Then make time for a pumpkin stop at Hunsucker Harvest Co., Jolly Pines Tree Farm, Holiday Hill Tree Farm, or District 6 Market to find pumpkins and fall decorations to take home.
Fall in Terre Haute wouldn’t be the same without Homecoming. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and Indiana State University welcome alumni, families, and familiar faces back to campus for football, tailgates, and longtime traditions. If Homecoming brings you back to town, make a weekend of it and revisit an old favorite or find somewhere new.
After a full day, check into one of Terre Haute’s welcoming hotels and stay for the weekend. With nearly 300 dining options, from locally owned favorites to familiar national brands, there’s no shortage of places to grab dinner. Add in free museums, public art, and locally owned shops, and you’ll have plenty more to explore the next day
